Automate Data Preparation and Maintenance

Asahi Group Holdings, Implements Japan's Largest Corporate Master Data, LBC, for All Records

Automate Data Preparation and Maintenance, Building a Foundation for Database Marketing

Asahi Group Holdings, Ltd.

uSonar Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; President: Nami Fukutomi), a company supporting database marketing, is pleased to announce that it has provided its entire LBC corporate master database, covering 8.2 million locations—the largest in Japan—to Asahi Group Holdings, Ltd. (Headquarters: Sumida-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Akiyoshi Koji; hereinafter Asahi Group Holdings). Through the implementation of LBC, Asahi Breweries, Ltd. (Headquarters: Sumida-ku, Tokyo; President: Shinichi Hirano; hereinafter Asahi Breweries) and Asahi Soft Drinks Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Sumida-ku, Tokyo; President: Katsuhiko Kishigami; hereinafter Asahi Soft Drinks) have automated the data maintenance and management of restaurants, which experience frequent changes, as well as general corporations undergoing mergers, acquisitions, or relocations. This has enabled the optimization of sales resource allocation based on accurate market size, utilizing consistently up-to-date information.

Background of Implementation

Asahi Breweries and Asahi Soft Drinks meet the diverse needs of their customers with a comprehensive lineup of products, including beer, happoshu, and soft drinks. While they were actively pursuing new business and supporting existing customers to expand their market share, primarily among restaurants and general corporations nationwide, they faced the following three challenges:
・ Compared to other industries, restaurants experience frequent changes in business format, relocations, and closures, resulting in a significant operational burden for data maintenance.
・ Although sales representatives register visit histories and transaction records, frequent duplicate registrations occur due to the use of abbreviations and typos.
・ The inability to accurately grasp the targets (market) within their sales territories made it impossible to optimize the allocation of sales resources.

To address these issues, Asahi Breweries and Asahi Soft Drinks implemented uSonar's corporate master database, LBC (12.5 million locations), into their core systems.

Benefits of Implementing the LBC Corporate Master Database

① Because LBC is maintained on a daily basis, it keeps data on restaurants and general corporations—which are subject to frequent changes—in a consistently up-to-date state.
② It normalizes data variations such as abbreviations and typos, achieving the unification of accurate customer data.
③ By accurately identifying untapped companies (market) within sales territories, it enables the optimization of sales resource allocation.
