SATO was considering the implementation of Sales Cloud (SFA) to strengthen its corporate sales, but it required the maintenance of its master data. Specifically, the company faced challenges with data accumulation that hindered sales and marketing activities, such as duplicate master data caused by inconsistent data formatting, a mix of old and new information, and incorrect data entry, as well as the mixing of headquarters and branch offices (stores) and missing corporate attributes like industry classification.
To maximize the functionality of the newly implemented SFA, it was necessary to maintain the master data and achieve the following three objectives:
1. Unification of data that was registered and dispersed by purpose
2. Systematization of data across different levels, from headquarters to branch offices (stores)
3. Institutionalization of operations to prevent reliance on specific individuals
Therefore, uSonar provided the customer data integration solution uSonar, which enables the automatic maintenance and unification of master data.
Utilization of the Customer Data Integration Solution uSonar
By combining SATO's existing master data, which was held in various formats, with the LBC (12.5 million business locations) corporate master data held by uSonar, we assigned a common code (LBC code) to achieve the unification of the held data. Furthermore, we leveraged the LBC data structure to realize the systematization of headquarters and branch offices (stores). By simply storing the master data assigned with LBC in uSonar, it integrates with SFA to automatically assign LBC codes to newly registered data and provide updated data.
Additionally, uSonar provided the business card management app uMeishi (Patent No. 5538512, Patent No. 6325604) to SATO's sales department, which allows for accurate data conversion simply by photographing business cards with a smartphone and adding corporate attributes, thereby enabling the real-time utilization of business card information.
SATO plans to implement Pardot, a Marketing Automation (MA) tool provided by Salesforce, in the future, and intends to integrate and utilize it with Sales Cloud and uSonar.
* The uMeishi service was discontinued in August 2025. The currently available business card management app is mSonar, which features significantly enhanced functionality.
