Challenges of Invoice System Compliance for Businesses and the Strengths of uSonar
Under the invoice system, businesses are required to apply to the National Tax Agency to obtain an invoice number.
Businesses with a large number of suppliers, in particular, must identify the invoice numbers of their business partners to process consumption tax payments. Failure to do so may result in the inability to claim tax credits, thereby increasing the company's tax payment burden.
Invoice numbers for business partners (suppliers) are published on the National Tax Agency's website and can be verified through searches.
However, because the company names on the public website are those registered by the applicants, automatic matching can be difficult if they differ from the company name formats in your own business partner data.
Example: The applicant registered as "Nippon Electric Co., Ltd.," but your internal data lists them as "NEC Corporation."
Unlike corporate numbers, a single organization may be assigned multiple invoice numbers, which can make the process of assigning the correct invoice number time-consuming.
To address these challenges, uSonar leverages "LBC," one of Japan's largest corporate databases, covering 8.2 million domestic business establishments. We perform data matching between the corporations contained in LBC and the latest invoice numbers (excluding sole proprietorships). This allows us to support companies struggling with managing their business partner (supplier) data.
