Under the invoice system, businesses are required to apply to the National Tax Agency to obtain an invoice registration number.
In particular, businesses with many suppliers must identify the invoice registration numbers of their business partners for consumption tax payment procedures. Failure to do so may prevent the deduction of consumption tax, resulting in an increased tax payment burden for the company.

The invoice registration numbers of suppliers are published on the National Tax Agency's website and can be verified through searches.
However, because the company names on the public website are those registered by the applicants themselves, automatic matching can be difficult if they differ from the company name notations in your own supplier data.
Example: The applicant registered as Nippon Electric Co., Ltd., but your internal data lists it as NEC Corporation.
Unlike corporate numbers, an organization may be assigned multiple invoice registration numbers, which can make the process of assigning the correct number time-consuming.

To address these challenges, uSonar maintains LBC, one of Japan's largest corporate databases covering 8.2 million domestic business establishments. We perform data matching between the corporations contained in LBC and the latest invoice registration numbers (excluding sole proprietorships). This allows us to support companies struggling with managing their supplier data.
