Corporate News
uSonar Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; Chairman: Nami Fukutomi; President: Katsuhito Nagatake; hereinafter "uSonar") is pleased to announce the launch of "DeepCheck," a new service designed to significantly reduce the operational burden on corporate sales and finance departments regarding business partner screening (compliance checks and creditworthiness assessments). This definitive business partner screening service provides a one-stop solution, including essential supporting documentation such as corporate registration records.
Given the increasing importance of business partner screening, particularly from the perspective of economic security, uSonar—which has provided "LBC," Japan's largest*1 corporate database, for many years—is now delivering "Deep Information, Instantly."

Background of DeepCheck Development
In an era where corporate social responsibility is increasingly scrutinized, business partner screening (variously referred to as compliance checks, anti-social force checks, or credit checks) is the process of verifying and assessing the compliance status, creditworthiness, and payment history of new and existing business partners. This process is essential across a wide range of industries, including finance and real estate.
Engaging in business with problematic entities can lead to difficulties in collecting accounts receivable and a decline in a company's own reputation, making this a critical business function. However, departments responsible for these checks face the challenge that "the more thoroughly one attempts to investigate, the more information sources must be consulted, resulting in enormous time and cost requirements."
To address this, uSonar has developed "DeepCheck," which instantly displays research results and evidence gathered by our company from various information sources, significantly reducing the time and effort customers spend on due diligence.
Since April 2020, uSonar has provided "Cautionary Company Flags"*2 as reference information for client screening. DeepCheck incorporates the expertise gained since then, offering information and features specialized in supporting client screening operations.

Differentiating Factors: Our Proprietary Information Sources—Leveraging Extensive Historical Data and OSINT Methodologies
The breadth and depth of information sources are critical for effective client screening.
For instance, relying solely on information gathered via internet searches, such as news reports, often leads to insufficient screening because older information is frequently removed.
uSonar possesses not only internet-based information and corporate numbers published by the National Tax Agency but also public information that is time-consuming and costly to acquire, such as nationwide commercial registrations. Furthermore, since our establishment in 1990, we have accumulated a vast database of corporate information dating back to the pre-internet era, which we synthesize to evaluate companies.
We consider this a practical application of OSINT*4, an intelligence methodology that has gained significant international attention in recent years.
Our clients often express their appreciation, noting that "uSonar's data frequently uncovers risks that were previously invisible."
