uSonar Co., Ltd. hosted the "2nd DX Forum Accelerated by Data" on May 22nd at Billboard Live Tokyo in Roppongi, Tokyo Midtown. Professor Ken Kusunoki, Specially Appointed Professor of Competitive Strategy at the Hitotsubashi Business School PDS Endowment Course, delivered a special lecture on the theme of "Competitive Strategy and DX," passionately discussing how to build a competitive advantage through data utilization.
In a dialogue between Professor Kusunoki and uSonar President Katsuhito Nagatake, the realities of promoting DX were discussed. Additionally, a panel discussion featuring SmartHR, Timee, and Mitsubishi Real Estate Services Co., Ltd. showcased case studies of data utilization through the implementation of uSonar.
The venue provided the same food and drinks as a live concert, fostering active networking among the 110 participating business leaders. Participant surveys indicated a 100% "Very Satisfied" or "Satisfied" rating.

About Professor Kusunoki
Management scholar specializing in competitive strategy. He researches the logic behind how companies build sustainable competitive advantages. He completed his master's degree at the Graduate School of Commerce and Management, Hitotsubashi University. After serving as a full-time lecturer and associate professor at Hitotsubashi University, a visiting professor at SDA Bocconi School of Management (Milan, Italy), an associate professor at the Graduate School of International Corporate Strategy at Hitotsubashi University, and a professor at Hitotsubashi Business School, he assumed his current position in 2023. Born in Meguro Ward, Tokyo, in 1964.
He has served as Vice Chairman of the Startup Committee of the Japan Association of Corporate Directors (incumbent), a member of the Porter Prize Steering Committee (incumbent), a management advisor to Asahi Glass Co., Ltd., a management advisor to Misaki Capital Inc. (incumbent), a member of the Asset Management Advisory Committee for Resona Bank, a director of Skymark Airlines Inc., a member of the NTT DATA Advisory Board, a member of the Industrial Structure Council of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and a director of the Academic Association for Organizational Science. He has been involved in the development of management talent at Fast Retailing Co., Ltd. since the inception of the FRMIC (Fast Retailing Management and Innovation Center). He received the Best Paper Award at the MIT-Japan Science and Technology Conference (1993) for "Dynamic Network and Bureaucracy" and the Business Book Grand Prize (2011) for "Competitive Strategy as a Story: Conditions for Excellent Strategy."

Profile
Joined uSonar Co., Ltd. as a new graduate in 2000. After working in roles such as sales planning, he was appointed Executive Officer of the Sales Planning Group in July 2014. He became President and Representative Director in February 2019. He oversees the entire Sales Division and promotes customer success and marketing projects. Since taking office as President, he has grown uSonar's revenue by 260% over five years. He actively participates in various meetings and events, building a network with over 1,000 executives and corporate leaders annually, and continues to conduct over 500 business meetings per year. He is dedicated to sharing the know-how of rapidly growing company revenue through data-driven sales and marketing activities not only with his own sales team but also with partners and clients.

Panelist: Tomomi Oura, SmartHR, Inc.
Manager, BizOps Department and BizSupport Department, Business Strategy Division BizOps & BizSupport Departments
After working in sales, transitioned to a sales planning department and was involved in the implementation and construction of Salesforce as a system administrator. Joined SmartHR in 2020 as an operations designer for the sales department. Currently serves as the manager of the BizOps Department, which designs, executes, and manages improvement projects for business operations across the entire company, including group subsidiaries, and the BizSupport Department, which provides support for sales and CS quotes and contract execution. Supports the company's rapid growth by overseeing Salesforce and payment infrastructure tools.

After graduating from university, gained experience in corporate sales at a network infrastructure SIer. Joined Accenture Japan Ltd. in 2016, where they were engaged in business process improvement and system construction support for clients in the materials and energy industries. Joined Timee, Inc. in December 2022. After serving as the PM for an SFA/CRM migration project, they are currently focused on improving sales processes and implementing and utilizing sales support tools centered on SFA/CRM with the mission of enhancing productivity across the entire sales organization.

CRM Promotion Section, Digital Strategy Department
Joined the company as a new graduate in 2006. In 2020, led the transition to Sales Cloud as the primary lead. Currently taking on the challenge of promoting CRM/SFA usage and driving data-driven organizational transformation. Winner of the 12th Salesforce National Utilization Championship in 2024.

Appointed as Executive Officer of the Sales Division DX Group in October 2018.

After joining uSonar Co., Ltd., was assigned to the department responsible for product implementation and onboarding. Later transferred to the corporate sales department. Specializes in supporting data utilization for major companies, particularly in the human resources and telecommunications industries, and provides data utilization advice to many clients daily. Currently enrolled in a graduate school for working professionals to obtain an MBA in order to gain insights for continuous team and corporate growth.
