Background and Challenges Leading to the Adoption of uSonar
Founded in 1921, Sakura Color Products Corp. is a comprehensive stationery manufacturer that handles a wide range of products, including art supplies, school supplies, writing instruments, and office supplies, both domestically and internationally.
The company's marketing and sales departments have been working to build and utilize a business environment that facilitates digital marketing and data utilization.
Previously, different codes were assigned and managed for the same corporate customer data across various systems, which hindered data utilization and resulted in a heavy manual input burden.
To resolve these issues, the Digital Strategy Section of the Marketing Department decided to migrate to a new SFA/CRM while simultaneously implementing uSonar's corporate database service. They anticipated that the coding system of uSonar's corporate database (LBC Code) would function as a common code to link corporate customer data across disparate systems.
Kengo Okada, Manager of the Digital Strategy Section, stated, "We selected a service that provides constant connectivity and automatic data maintenance, rather than just a one-time master code assignment, to ensure our common codes remain updated."
Furthermore, to move beyond defensive data maintenance and enable proactive data utilization, they also implemented "mSonar," a smartphone application that allows sales representatives to instantly check corporate and business card information while on the go.
Key Benefits of Implementing uSonar
• uSonar assigns common codes to corporate customer data across different systems, enabling centralized management and accumulation of customer data (eliminating data fragmentation).
• Eliminated data duplication within the SFA/CRM, achieving a 40% reduction in data volume.
• Reduced the time required for data linking to nearly zero, resulting in an approximately 15-fold increase in speed.
• Increased the accumulation of business card data by 5 times through the use of mSonar, while eliminating the need for maintenance for email marketing purposes.
