uSonar Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; Chairperson: Nami Fukutomi; President: Katsuhito Nagatake; Employees: 260) is pleased to announce that in December 2023, it received the Employment Adjustment Subsidy for Persons with Disabilities from the Japan Organization for Employment of the Elderly, Persons with Disabilities and Job Seekers (JEED).
This is based on the national Levy and Grant System for Employing Persons with Disabilities. Under this system, employers with more than 100 regular employees who have not met the statutory employment rate (2.3%) are required to pay a levy to JEED.
Using these funds, JEED provides Employment Adjustment Subsidies and incentive payments to eligible employers.
Following last year, our company currently employs nine individuals with disabilities, which exceeds the five required for our company size, thereby qualifying us for this subsidy. This marks the seventh consecutive year that our company has received this adjustment subsidy.
From the perspective of promoting ESG management, we remain committed to developing a workplace environment and employment practices that are inclusive for persons with disabilities. This includes implementing occupational health management for VDT work, offering a flexible work system with free-shift scheduling, and providing free lunches for all employees.
