uSonar Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; Chairman: Nami Fukutomi; President: Katsuhito Nagatake; Employees: 260) is pleased to announce that in December 2023, it received the Employment Adjustment Subsidy for Persons with Disabilities from the Japan Organization for Employment of the Elderly, Persons with Disabilities and Job Seekers (JEED).
This is based on the national "Employment Levy System for Persons with Disabilities." Employers with more than 100 regular employees who have not met the statutory employment rate (2.3%) are required to pay a levy to JEED.
Using this levy as a funding source, JEED provides employment adjustment subsidies, incentive payments, and other benefits to eligible employers.
Following last year, our company currently employs nine individuals with disabilities, which exceeds the five required for our company size, making us eligible for this employment adjustment subsidy. This marks the seventh consecutive year that our company has received this subsidy.
From the perspective of promoting ESG management, we remain committed to developing and maintaining a workplace environment where individuals with disabilities can work comfortably. This includes implementing occupational health management for VDT work, offering flexible work systems through a free-shift policy, and providing free lunches for all employees.
