Background of Developing a Program That Automatically Detects Business Cards from Standard Photo Apps

Generally, business card management applications that recognize text information from business card images and store them in a database are widely used. However, because these applications do not automatically search for images stored within the smartphone's standard camera app (such as the camera roll) and register them as business cards, users have historically faced the inconvenience of having to launch the management application every time to capture business card images.
To address this and enhance user convenience, uSonar has developed and patented a technology that identifies uncaptured business card images from photos within the smartphone's standard photo app and automatically integrates them directly into the business card management application.

Use Cases for Business Card Processing Programs Integrated with Standard Photo Applications

The newly patented business card processing program allows users to capture business card images within their smartphone's standard camera roll without needing to launch the business card management application. It automatically detects new, uncaptured business card images and determines whether they have already been processed. If the image is identified as a new business card, it can be stored as text information within the business card management application.
This significantly improves user convenience by enabling seamless business card management without the need to manually open the application.
