Background of Developing a Program for Automatic Business Card Detection from Standard Photo Apps

Business card management applications that recognize text information from images and store it in a database are widely used. However, these apps generally do not search images stored within the smartphone's standard camera app (such as the Camera Roll) to automatically register business cards. This creates the inconvenience of having to launch the business card management app every time to capture images.
To address this and enhance user convenience, uSonar has developed and patented a technology that identifies uncaptured business card images from within the smartphone's standard photo app and automatically integrates them directly into the business card management application.

Use Cases for the Business Card Processing Program with Direct Integration to Standard Photo Apps

The newly patented business card processing program allows users to capture business card images within the smartphone's standard camera roll without needing to launch the business card management app. The program automatically detects new, uncaptured business card images and determines whether they have already been processed. If the image is identified as a new business card, the text information can be extracted and stored in the business card management app.
This significantly improves user convenience by enabling seamless business card management without the need to manually open the application.
