We are pleased to announce that the Mitsui & Co. Principal Investment Fund, managed by Mitsui & Co. Principal Investments Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Nobuyuki Goto; hereinafter "MCPI"), a subsidiary of Mitsui & Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Tatsuo Yasunaga; hereinafter "Mitsui & Co."), has reached an agreement on capital participation in Landscape Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; Chairperson: Nami Fukutomi; hereinafter "Landscape") and has completed the transaction.
Landscape is a corporate group that possesses one of Japan's largest databases and provides services that support sales efficiency and growth for client companies through said database. Its business establishment database, "LBC," contains 8.2 million corporate records and is characterized by its 99.7% coverage of domestic business locations, as well as its ability to maintain group information regarding capital relationships and head office-branch relationships. Furthermore, the company provides "uSonar," a customer data integration tool equipped with LBC. By utilizing the expansion option "Meishi Sonar," a business card management application, it is possible to link the names of personnel to the 8.2 million corporate data records. The services provided by Landscape integrate customer information scattered within a company through coordination with the client's existing SFA and MA tools, and by providing visualization of white space and priority sales targets, they realize support for B2B marketing within client companies.
MCPI will support Landscape's further growth and expansion, as well as the strengthening of its management foundation, by leveraging the Mitsui & Co. Group's network, expertise in the IT industry, and management improvement skills. In addition to appointing a non-executive director, MCPI plans to dispatch personnel to the front lines to support the enhancement of Landscape's corporate value.
Nami Fukutomi, the founder who built Landscape's business, will continue her involvement as Chairperson and shareholder. Together, Nami Fukutomi, the officers and employees, and MCPI will accelerate future growth with the goal of a future stock listing for Landscape.
