Landscape has launched the Online Business Card Exchange, a new feature for the uMeishi business card management app.
■ Background of Feature Addition
With the rise of telework as part of work-style reform and in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been an increase in situations where face-to-face business card exchange is not possible. Consequently, we have decided to implement the Online Business Card Exchange feature, which allows users to register and manage business cards online.
■ About Online Business Card Exchange
Online Business Card Exchange is a feature that enables the automatic registration of business cards from email receipt history (signatures). For example, by simply forwarding an email (containing a signature) received from a client scheduled for a web meeting to a designated address, the signature field can be automatically registered as business card exchange information.
This service utilizes the technology of "Easy Registration*" (Patent No. 5538512).

2. Simple to use by just forwarding emails; no prior preparation required.

4. In addition to the existing "Easy Registration" patent, a patent for this service regarding email signature extraction is currently pending.
* Easy Registration is a feature that allows you to automatically parse and reflect necessary information simply by copying and pasting an email signature.
* Challenges Solved by Online Business Card Exchange
With the recent increase in online meetings and gatherings, it is common for meetings to proceed without the exchange of business cards, even when meeting someone for the first time online. This can sometimes hinder the smooth progression of a meeting. Furthermore, beyond online meetings, there are many business scenarios where it is advantageous to obtain information equivalent to a business card before a scheduled meeting. Online Business Card Exchange is the first domestic feature developed to address these challenges.
* Functional Details of Online Business Card Exchange
Online Business Card Exchange features the ability to identify multiple signature elements related to an email sender from email reception history. For example, it identifies signature fields by using logic that extracts signature elements—which represent business card information—based on signature delimiter strings detected in the email history, and determines whether the number of signature elements exceeds a pre-set threshold. This allows users to obtain information equivalent to a business card prior to online meetings where physical exchange does not occur. It also enables the acquisition of such information before future scheduled meetings without the need for a physical business card exchange.
[About the Business Card Management App "uMeishi"]
This is a business card management app that leverages "LBC" (8.2 million locations), the largest corporate master database in Japan, owned by Landscape. By utilizing "LBC" as a master dictionary for OCR (Optical Character Recognition) data analysis technology, the app instantly corrects data simply by photographing a business card, enabling high-precision digitization. Additionally, it can append attribute information such as industry, annual revenue, and corporate registration numbers to the business card data, realizing immediate utilization of the data.
