(Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President: Setsuo Shibahara; hereinafter "Hitachi Solutions").

■ Background
To implement Landscape's Purchasing Potential Segment Visualization Service, it is necessary to receive customer data collected and stored by individual companies. However, for financial institutions such as banks and credit card companies, it has often been difficult to outsource customer data externally due to privacy policies.
Furthermore, with the full enforcement of the amended Act on the Protection of Personal Information on May 30, 2017, it is expected that initiatives to utilize customer data after processing it into anonymous data while considering privacy will increase.

Therefore, Landscape is launching the "Purchasing Potential Segment Visualization Service," which combines our "Data Cleansing Solution*1" with Hitachi Solutions' "Privacy Information Anonymization Solution." As a result, even companies that previously found it difficult to entrust customer data to third parties can now visualize potential high-value customer segments while maintaining privacy.

To enable the flexible handling of client customer data, Landscape has integrated our conventional "Data Cleansing Solution*1" with the "Privacy Information Anonymization Solution" based on the k-anonymization technology*2 provided by Hitachi Solutions. By combining customer data with external data and performing analysis using diverse attribute data, we provide new value to customer data while ensuring privacy.

This allows companies that previously struggled to outsource customer data due to privacy policy constraints to conduct analysis using external data and visualize potential high-value customer segments.

Furthermore, by integrating with various platforms and solutions, we provide data with even higher added value.

*1 What is the Data Cleansing Solution?
It is a method for standardizing data stored in a disorganized manner within a database by performing processing for data correction and duplicate data identification. Using data integration technology cultivated by Landscape over many years, we realize customer data consolidation, cleansing, and duplicate checking.
*2 What is k-anonymization technology?
It is a data processing method designed to make the identification of specific individuals difficult. By converting data so that there are at least k records with the same attribute values within the target data (satisfying k-anonymity), the probability of an individual being identified can be reduced to 1/k or less.
