[The Problem of Information Leaks via Targeted Cyber Attacks]
While Landscape has primarily supported client companies in data utilization, we are deeply concerned about the
rapidly increasing number of information leaks caused by targeted cyber attacks, such as the recent incident involving the Japan Pension Service.
Targeted cyber attacks refer to a series of persistent attacks specifically aimed at a target to obtain sensitive information. In particular, targeted attacks via email using attachments are one of the most widely exploited methods. These attacks are becoming increasingly sophisticated and malicious, utilizing new types of malware to steal confidential and personal information. However, since this malware cannot be immediately detected by conventional security measures, the only realistic approach is to minimize the damage.
Therefore, Landscape will leverage the management expertise we have cultivated through our data utilization support to build and provide a "Targeted Cyber Attack Countermeasure Service."
Specifically, we will provide a fundamental mechanism that displays a safety score for received emails with attachments—calculated using our proprietary corporate attributes, domains, IP addresses, and logic—to warn users before they open files. This will enable the realization of highly robust information security that prevents information leaks before they occur.
Protecting data assets. We view this as a field where Landscape can contribute to society and will coordinate with partners to move forward.
